20+ years of passion for the dental industry

DSOs and group practices are in a growing and complex market. Between dealing with insurance providers, getting accurate financial reporting, or working with dental boards in multiple states, operating multiple dental locations can be challenging!

Ken and Dallin have a combined 20+ years of experience working in dental. After helping each other solve problems for years, eventually they decided to take their hard-earned knowledge and offer it to the world. Just like that, AccruDent was born!

Foundations

Where does the name AccruDent come from? After several bad ideas we won't mention here, Ken took driver's seat and Dallin took shotgun on a ten hour car trip and threw out every name idea they could think of. The end result? Many protein bar wrappers, an empty gas tank, and the name "AccruDent".

"Accrue" comes from the old French word "acreue", which means to grow, increase, or gather. The French language has special significance to Ken, who learned it while living in Canada as a young adult. The meaning of the word perfectly captures the mission of AccruDent which is to gather the brightest minds and best resources in dentistry to help organizations grow!

Why the name Accrudent?

Ken thrives as an executive in high-growth organizations; since 2004, Ken has served in CFO and President/CFO roles in venture capital and private equity-backed organizations, helping to drive growth of 3 to 10x during his tenure at each. Ken founded AccruDent to help Dental Finance Leaders and DSOs grow and scale. Ken earned a business degree from BYU and an MBA from the University of Georgia.

Ken and his wife have been married for 26 years, and they have eight amazing children ages 26 to 9. Ken credits his wife, family, and faith as the source of any good he is able to accomplish!

Nothing is more fun for Dallin than leveraging modern technology in combination with good processes and procedures to solve business problems. He has been working around DSOs since he was 17, and is passionate about seeing them succeed.

Dallin is currently trying to balance his senior year at BYU while also pouring his time into AccruDent. He considers himself a pretty optimistic and energetic person. When not frantically typing on a computer or running between classes, you can probably find him hiking, running, or doing "nerd stuff" with his classmates.

We do not worry if the glass is half empty or half full because we know it is refillable! There are enough resources, opportunities, and successes to go around for everyone. Some fruits of an abundance mindset include gratitude, generosity, and optimism. We view setbacks as temporary, and as opportunities to learn, improve, grow, and practice faith. This leads to resilience, or the ability to weather whatever challenges come our way.
